Chapter Six: "Surround Yourself with the Right People"

I learned this one the hard way!
When I started out on my journey to become a successful home-based business owner my circle of old co-workers, friends and extended family were all against it. Didn’t matter how I justified my efforts…they just were not going to accept it. Later down the road I began to realize that they really felt that their fears should be mine as well. Since I had my own fears stacked a mile high, I decided not to add any more fears that my circle so wanted to generously share with me.
Selection: “ …every market can look very unwelcoming when you’re on the outside looking in. The way I have been able to get past the fear in my own career is by focusing on establishing relationships with people who are already behind what I perceive to be the walls.”
As time went by, my circle faded away little by little, leaving me with just my own thoughts, beliefs and values. It was a scary time; however it was also a time for my true foundation to begin. I made new friends and new collaborations that enhanced my personal and business growth.

Did you know that you are a collection of the five people you have the most contact with? Makes you think about what is really going on with you, huh? (smile)
I bet it couldn’t hurt to add a few more to your circle that will support you, inspire you, and teach you something new!
